I make pictures for a living and I have for a long time.
Corey Lack Pictures started in 2008. I moved the whole operation to Jackson over a decade ago and I have worked out of this valley ever since. The client list has run from creative agencies around the country to manufacturers, hotels, theatres, landscapers, plumbers, galleries and a fair number of people who just needed a decent headshot.
The through line is light. Most of what separates a good commercial photograph from a bad one is whether somebody bothered to control the light, and most people do not, because it takes longer and it is harder to explain on an invoice. I bother.
I also design and build the things the pictures go into. That matters more than it sounds like it should. When the same person shoots the campaign, lays out the brochure and builds the site, the crop is right, the file is the right resolution, and nobody spends a week emailing about a logo that will not sit on a busy background.
Most businesses here do not have four vendors and a marketing director. They have one person who is already busy. That is the gap I fill.
How I work
No stock. If it is on your site, I made it.
You see a rough cut or a first pass before anything is final.
I will tell you when a project does not need what you are asking for.
